Over the years of researching moose and creating this website it has become obvious that most of my visitors are from countries different to me (United Kingdom), especially Canada and the United States.
Part 1 of this page concerns one of my other interests which is genealogy (researching my family history). This has been a hobby of mine for about 15 years and I have become very skilled. I have traced my own ancestors back to the late 16th century although the accuracy decreases as you move further back in time. It has been easy for me because my ancestors have all been from England.
So this is an opportunity for me to help you if you have family links to England and would like help in researching them.
What I am offering is the following....
** Stage 1 **
Contact me with basic details you have. If I think there is chance I can help I will give you an ID and you can move to the next stage.
** Stage 2 **
For $2.00 (US) I will take further details from you and perform some initial research. I will let you know if I have any success and ask if you want to progress further. This charge is not refundable so you should be aware that in some cases searches may be unsuccessful.
** Stage 3 **
For no more than $10.00 for each search period I will let you know the basics of what I have discovered and then before any payment is made you can choose whether or not to receive the information.
Note that if specialised help or birth, marriage and death certificates are needed there will be an additional fee. In the UK, copies cost £7 (British Pounds).
Mail me at elk@smouse.force9.net. Please use the the title "British family" in the subject of the mail.
Part 2 of this page is more general. Contact me if you want anything British (especially English). Examples include stamps, coins, bank notes, newspapers, magazines, etc.
Costs will be the price of the item with postage and packaging converted into dollars plus a maximum $5.00 (US) finders fee. If I cannot find the item you want or decide not to accept then there will be no charge at all.
Mail me at elk@smouse.force9.net. Please use the the title "British items" in the subject of the mail.
